1st ARMO Global Rotomoulding Conference (4th Pan European Conference) Berlin, Germany, 17th-19th September 2006 Attendees: 400+ (plus 70 spouses) Countries represented: 33 Another excellent conference with a very good turnout and a packed agenda. With such a broad base of attendees, there is always lots to hear about and new people to meet. Erich Boersch was honored by the ARMO group for his lifetime of dedication to the industry and for all his efforts in organizing the European meetings over the years. He has officially retired from his role as President of the ARMCE group and will now hopefully have some time to rest and relax! We had a little fun with some photos from the archives during his presentation...

Orla with Martin Coles of Matrix Polymers.
One of a number of interesting molded parts on display at the Matrix stand - this was a polycarbonate grade that they have been working on - there were also some polyurethane and twin-color parts.
Martin Carder of RotaDesign with Franscesco (Mr President) Mondini.
Maus have been growing quite strongly and have added to their facilities recently - they had an impressive stand at the show.

Fabienne Bruneua and Fabien Marchat of machinery supplier SAT.
Frank Harleman and customers at the Modelmakerj Hengelo stand.

I must have been following this good looking girl as she went from booth to booth - here she is again with Gaetano and Pierino at the Persico booth.
Bob Wood and Mark Demuynck holding the fort for Borealis and Ultrapolymers. My compliments on a terrific dinner at the Reichstag gentlemen on the evening before the show!
Dennis Kjellberg from ICO with their new pre-weighed pre-packaged powder system.
Ryan and Chantal of Resin Express.
Our glamorous organizers, Michelle, Leisa and Petra who took care of all those details and challenges that attendees never see. Great conference ladies, well done.
Somehow the South Africans always stick together even when they are spread across three continents - maybe that funny accent makes it easy to find each other...
Berlin obviously has an amazing history and is quite a fun place too. Here's the girl with some local officials checking ID through the American Sector checkpoint close to where Checkpoint Charlie used to be.
The Brandenburg Gate + Orla
No visit would be complete without seeing the wall - they have preserved a section as a memorial....
...with a historical review of the trials of the war trials of the Nazi leaders that they chose to prosecute (not all of them for some reason). Fascinating stuff. |
