Practical Aspects covers many of the basic issues dealt with everyday on the shopfloor (200 slides). This section allows the group to discuss basic issues and relate to actual problems encountered in your plant. The opportunity to compare notes with how other molders tackle issues can be invaluable.

The specific areas covered include:

Inside the Mold - Seven critical factors that must be controlled for effective molding.
Defining the Processing Window - A Definition of Optimum Cure and how material properties are affected by processing parameters.
Processing Parameters - A detailed look at the key processing parameters that can affect final part quality.
Bubble Formation / Removal - The mechanism of how bubbles are created and what happens to them during molding is covered along with techniques for their removal.
Color and Additives - Color and additives can have critical effect son processing and final part properties - this section reviews the basic elements and techniques of coloring.
Release Agents - Several classes of release agents are discussed along with their application and use in production.
Rotation Speeds and Settings - The basic rules commonly employed and how they affect part quality are discussed. A subject that on the surface is simple but in practice has few specific guidelines.
Venting – The theory of venting and calculations of venting is balanced with practical tips on the use of vents and vent materials.
Shrinkage and Warpage - Many of the basic parameters of processing come together in the size and shape of the final part. This section reviews the main contributors and ways to control these problems.
Cooling - Providing that the oven cycle has been properly set, the final properties of a part are most often controlled by cooling. It is also the most fertile area for cycle time improvements.
Secondary Processes - Basic operations for finishing parts, cutting, labelling, CNC routing, welding and painting are reviewed in this section.
